Container For a Cause is a program that we created to show our appreciation to the community that supports our business. We provide one free container each month to a different family or household that is in need. Whether they have fallen on hard times, or illness has affected them, we want to do our part in helping. As a small business we don't have much to give, but we thought this was a good start.
When we started this company one of our main goals was to give back. We believed we needed to become larger in order to accomplish this goal. Patrick Halvorsen inspired us to rethink our abilities. Patrick is the cousin of one of our owners, and family to Coastal Waste Management. Some of the photos on our website and social media were even taken by him! Patrick was diagnosed with a fatal form of cancer at the age of 16. As of this writing he's still fighting the good fight. Patrick is an amazing kid, and has inspired us to help. Like he would have done. Through this experience we have realized that there are many families out there struggling with similar situations. Not just illness, but all forms of struggles that life presents. When we help a family in this small way we think of Patrick, and how this would put a smile on his face, and hopefully on the members of the families that we can help too.
Families or individuals will be nominated by filling out the form located on this page. Each month we will pick an individual or family that we think is deserving of a free container to be dropped off at their home so they can use it to clean up their house, clean up their yard, or anything else that they feel it can be of help with. We will choose one nomination at the end of every month, and the container will be delivered the following month at a time of their choosing. We would like to announce the winners monthly on our social media, and tell their story (with permission and respect) to spread awareness and understanding. Below you will find the steps to enter your friends, family, and loved ones, and we thank you for taking the time to read.
1. Think of a family, or individual, that is need, or has been affected by tragedy, and see if they may need a dumpster.
2. Fill out our Nomination Form with the information about the individual, or family for us to review.
3. Wait to hear back from us at the end of the month!
